Alberto Gustaffson The sound design on Silverware is exceptional. From the depth of the bass to the clarity of the high-end, every frequency is meticulously crafted. It's a feast for the ears, especially on a high-quality sound system.

EdmT Freak Bravo! A masterful exploration of electronic soundscapes, melding the cerebral complexity of Amon Tobin with the rhythmic intensity of Overmono. Each track is a trip through contrasting sonic textures, proving that electronic music can both challenge and entertain.

Jane Kons Got totally lost in this EP. It's like a love letter to fans of Chemical Brothers and Aphex Twin. The blend of dreamy textures and hard-hitting breakbeats is just mind-blowing. And also the videos are fun to watch haha

about

The Duty Freedom (Cologne) releases „Silverware“, a 5-track EP created during his 5 months in Athens, 2022. In a range from straight to complex rhythms and melodic layering you’ll be taken on a journey through your own mind and memory lanes.

Imagine the Mediterranean concrete jungle covered in snow, then fast-forward to spring with the scent of orange blossoms in the air. That's what "Silverware" feels like. You might feel this transition of the seasons all through The Duty Freedom's music.

The EP has everything from the digital glitch aesthetics in "Unexpectations" to the bouncy rhythm of "House No.26" that makes you want to move your feet. The track "Silverware" draws your attention with its powerful electro punch and growls, while "Kalamaki" brings a bit of positive melancholy with its warm vintage pads. The finale, "Invention," mixes a gritty bassline with cute melodies over a simple 4-to-the-floor-kick and hi-hat.
